How 2020 Shaped My Path Forward

It's amazing how time flies. It seems as though each year goes by faster than the last. This year was no exception. This time last year I was eager with anticipation for what 2020 would bring.

Like many of you may have thought, this year was going to be THE year. This year symbolic of a once in a lifetime event similar to the excitement leading up to the event of 2020 (i.e. Y2K). Do any of you remember that?

And then... the pandemic came and switched up things for everyone.

While some of the things I had in mind to do and experience this year did not happen, there were still some amazing things I was able to learn. Ironically, in a year marked by great uncertainty I achieved greater clarity about myself and what I truly want in life.

If you have been following my blog, you probably have noticed some of what I have captured along the way. While I have had many personal takeaways along the way. Many of while are reflected in my previous blog posts.

I once believed I had to have a defined career path and do one thing. I have various interests and talents and I accept I can do many things. What is more important to me is spending my time do more of what I want when I want to.

When I was working in a "steady" job it was primarily to earn money. Having financial resources to cover expenses and provide for your family is important, however is it truly sustainable and rewarding over time?

It's okay to branch out and explore different avenues to express myself and explore my creativity. It's okay to listen to my intuition and trust my gut when everything outside of me may suggest otherwise. The most important thing is spending more things I am passionate about and bring me a great deal of happiness. What is even more satisfying is being able to do things that will positively impact the lives of other people.

Thank you for following along with me this year. This will be my final blog post for 2020. See you in 2021!
