Summer will be here in a few weeks and you may already have plans to explore new places or revisit your favorite destinations. Over the years I have been fortunate to have the opportunity to explore different places and experience different cultures. These experiences have not only helped me to discover new things about myself on a personal level, but it has helped me learn how to improve my outfit selections when I am away.
As I continued to travel more I learned about what clothing items worked well for me and what did not. One of my major feats was when I traveled to Europe for a few weeks and managed to bring only a carry on.
What made a huge difference for me was being realistic about what I would actually wear. For example, do I need to bring along five pairs of heels when I’m going away for a three day trip when touring museums? No. Being more intentional about my wardrobe choices also helped me to be more efficient when it comes to packing for travel.
So how do you go about travelling in style? Before you leave, take a pause and plan what you are going to wear for your upcoming adventure. If you take a moment to think about how you will be spending the majority of your time this will help you get ready more easily.
For example, if you plan to tour a major city by foot you may want to consider bringing flat shoes with you that will allow you to roam the area more comfortably. This applies to your clothing as well. Bringing looser fitting garments will also allow you to navigate your destination with added ease.
Another thing to keep in mind is to bring more tops than bottoms. In doing so will allow you to make more of a statement with your outfits. Also, bring along accessories such as scarves, hats, and earrings to create more variety in your look.
